Discrimination in the Gugalanna Games?

As excitement about the upcoming election for Senate Speaker rises and tensions run high, the public eye continues to turn a critical eye toward The Final Tally and its associations with undead.
While the guild and its leader have shown a noble determination to the public eye, no one is soon to forget the undead threat that endangered the city mere months ago.
Indeed, it seems the mistrust runs deep even within the ranks of the government, as some officiators of the Gulaganna Games disallowed one Sir Melech Therai, an undead and a newly-inducted member of The Final Tally at that, from participating in the event.
The Games' representatives claim that Sir Therai committed an infraction of the rules.
"We recognize it might have been a misunderstanding," stated one of the appointed arbiters (who chose to remain nameless), "but even so, we cannot grant any exception."
When confronted about bias, they were quick to point out that other undead were allowed to enter just like normal.
They also deny any knowledge of other, more recent anti-undead activity amongst the Guilds.
No matter which way you slice it, it's clear that the city's wounds seem likely to leave scars before they have the chance to heal.
What remains to be seen is: will the next months see this tension die down… or is it, like the Necromancer's cohorts, fated to rise again?
